The owner of a dog in Florida is responsible for any dog that bites you. There is a provision that allows for a reduction in any award of damages to you to the extent that you provoked or aggravated the dog or partly at fault for the dog bite. However, in a general sense, owners of dogs are responsible for their dogs who bite you.
