Who is liable for a defective product?

In a case involving a defective product, which we call a product’s liability case, it’s not just the manufacturer of that particular product who is responsible. It’s anybody in what we call the stream of commerce. That can be the middle man, which is a distributor, it can be the ultimate store from which you purchased the product, as well as the manufacturer. So it’s everybody engaged in the stream of commerce from the production of that product until the ultimate sale to the consumer.
