Mr. Sweeney is a native of Florida's Treasure Coast. He was born and raised in St. Lucie County. Following graduation from Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce, Florida, Mr. Sweeney attended Florida State University on a full academic scholarship where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with high honors in 2001. He then earned his Law Degree (J.D.), with honors, in 2004 from the Florida State University College of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Sweeney was an active member of the prestigious Florida State University Law Review and an award-winning member of the FSU College of Law Moot Court Team, attending several national competitions in New York and Washington, D.C. He was also selected for induction into the prestigious Order of Barristers, an organization which provides national recognition for individuals who have excelled in advocacy and service at their law school.

Mr. Sweeney concentrates his practice in the areas of serious injury, wrongful death, construction law and commercial and business litigation. He has tried numerous cases including commercial disputes, complex business litigation, and construction related cases. In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Sweeney has briefed and argued several cases before Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal.
He is currently a member of the Trial Lawyers Section of the Florida Bar, the Litigation Section and Forum on the Construction Industry of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association and the Indian River County Bar Association. Mr. Sweeney is also the Past President of the Indian River County Bar Association Young Lawyer's Division. Mr. Sweeney is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts as well as the United States Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Sweeney is married and is the proud dad of a large lap dog named Barra. He is an avid sport diver and surfer and travels often to the Caribbean and Central America to pursue his surfing and diving passion.
